Know What's Wrong in Your PeopleSoft Before Your Users Do

psLens is a read-only web app for PeopleSoft teams. It finds the risky access your auditor would flag, tells you when processes fail or Integration Broker stalls, and answers any object lookup (records, fields, pages, components) in seconds. No client install, no VM, no App Designer session.

Sub-second search · 16 real-time alerts · 14 audit reports · One-click Markdown export

Watch the Overview

PeopleSoft administrators, security admins, and developers spend hours every week in App Designer and SQL clients answering routine questions: who has access to this page, which batch jobs failed overnight, why is Integration Broker stalled, and what changed between DEV and PROD?

psLens answers those questions in a browser, in seconds, from one screen.

What the First Scan Finds

Real report output from one run against a delivered Campus Solutions 9.2 dev image, exported exactly as psLens produced it.

58 of 62

active nodes accepted messages with no password (AUTHOPTN='N') — any system that can reach the gateway can send through them

11

accounts had passwords older than a year, including the delivered PS superuser at 463 days

2

permission lists granted SOAP-to-CI web library access, one of them attached to broad self-service roles

Delivered dev images really do look like this. One report run shows you what your environments look like.

Make PeopleSoft Readable by ChatGPT and Claude

PeopleCode lives inside App Designer and configuration lives in PeopleTools tables. ChatGPT and Claude can't read either one.

Every PeopleSoft object psLens browses — records, pages, components, projects, application packages, app engines, queries, service operations, permission lists, users, and more — exports as structured Markdown with one click. Paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, drop it into a file Claude Code or Cursor can read, or hand it to whatever AI tool your team already uses.

Code Review in Minutes

Hand an entire project's PeopleCode to an LLM and get bugs, performance issues, and security risks flagged before your next release.

Export a Project to Markdown, Get a Spec from Claude

Generate technical specs, data dictionaries, and onboarding guides from your real configuration rather than stale wikis nobody trusts.

Impact Analysis Before You Change

"What breaks if I touch this record?" Ask an AI before you ship the change, not after the helpdesk lights up.

Onboarding Material for Legacy Customizations

Export PSPROJECTITEM for a long-lived customization, hand it to an LLM, and get a plain-language explanation new team members can read.

Now available: an embedded Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other AI tools can query PeopleSoft objects, trace security access, and triage operations live. See the MCP guide and tool catalog.

Hear About Failures Before the Helpdesk Does

18 background checks run every few minutes and send notifications when something breaks: failed processes, long-running jobs, stalled IB messages, locked operator accounts blocking scheduled jobs, and anomalous traffic spikes. Findings clear automatically when the condition resolves.

Find Risky Access Before Your Auditor Does

26 on-demand reports check your configuration for overly broad permission lists, missing node passwords, stale passwords, and IB security gaps. Results are stored for 90 days and export to Markdown. See real exported output.

Answer ‘What Uses This Record?’ in Seconds

Search every type of PeopleSoft object and click through its relationships: which pages use a record, which components contain a page, which permission lists grant access. Fields, records, components, menus, roles, SQL objects, application packages, and more.

See Every Queued, Running, and Failed Process

View running, queued, and recently completed process requests across every connected database. Drill into an instance for run details, logs, and status history.

Spot Stalled Messages Before Users Escalate

Monitor async operations, publication contracts, and subscription contracts. 6 dedicated IB alerts detect errors, stalls, and abnormal volume spikes automatically. 7 IB reports audit node security, routing gaps, and sync logging gaps.

Look Up Definitions Without App Designer

SQL objects, Application Engines, Application Packages, Message Catalog entries, HTML definitions, and more, through a search that answers as you type.

How It Works

1. Install SWS Framework

Install and configure the lightweight SWS framework in your PeopleSoft environment. It provides a secure REST API layer for psLens to query.

2. Deploy psLens

Deploy your dedicated psLens instance and point it at your PeopleSoft environments. Each client gets their own isolated deployment.

3. Search, Monitor, Audit

Open psLens in a browser. The dashboard populates within minutes of the first health check. Search objects, monitor processes, and run security reports from one interface.

Who Is psLens For?

Security Administrators

Walk into your next audit with the findings already in hand. Reports flag overly-broad access, stale passwords, and IB security gaps; trace any user, role, or permission list without writing SQL.

System Administrators

Know within minutes when processes fail, stall, or won't start because an operator account is locked. Monitor Process Scheduler and Integration Broker with 16 near-real-time alerts.

Developers

See the blast radius before you ship: which pages use a record, which components expose it, who has access. Look up any object in seconds without opening App Designer, and compare projects across DEV, TEST, and PROD in one report.

Business Analysts

Answer your own questions about structure, security, schedules, and integrations without a developer's help or a developer's tool. Much of it (who has access, when jobs run, where data flows) was never visible in App Designer anyway.

DevOps & Support

Monitor Integration Broker and Process Scheduler health from a single screen. Deep-link to specific objects when troubleshooting issues.

Documentation & AI Workflows

Export PeopleSoft object definitions to Markdown for documentation, test planning, and AI-assisted analysis. Share structured exports with anyone.

Read-Only. No Shared Tenancy. Whitelisted Query Surface.

Read-only by design — users never connect directly to the database, and your database passwords stay in PeopleSoft. Queries are scoped to a whitelist of PeopleTools metadata tables. Every customer gets a dedicated deployment with no shared tenancy.

That is what makes it safe to give analysts, auditors, and support staff a real view of the system: the people who should never hold App Designer can still see how it works, without a tool that can change it.

How psLens Protects Your Environment
Chris Malek, builder of psLens

Who Builds psLens

psLens is built by Chris Malek of Cedar Hills Group, the developer behind the SWS framework that psLens runs on.

Chris has worked in PeopleSoft for 25+ years — first at PeopleSoft itself, then as an independent integration consultant. His integration code runs in production at Stanford, Duke, CUNY, Stony Brook, UC Santa Cruz, and dozens of other universities. He wrote PeopleTools Integration Broker: The Missing Manual, an open-source book used as a reference across the PeopleSoft community.

When you book a demo, Chris is the one on the call.

Design Partner Program

psLens is early-stage, and we are onboarding a limited number of PeopleSoft teams as design partners. Design partners shape what gets built next.

Your requests set the build order

Need a report we don't have, an alert we don't fire, or a security check you want automated? Partner requests go to the front of the queue.

Dedicated setup and onboarding

We walk your team through the SWS install and your psLens deployment, then help onboard additional environments at your pace.

A direct line to the builder

No support tiers. Questions, feedback, and requests go straight to the person who writes the code.

It starts with a demo, and the demo is not a slide deck: 30 minutes, 1-on-1, connected to a live environment, with the security reports run while you watch. First scans usually find something.
